Plan Schedule Management


Is the process of establishing policies and procedures for planning, developing, managing, executing and controlling the project schedule.

  • Selecting the scheduling methodology - Critical Path Method or Critical Chain Method or others
  • How will the (schedule) estimating be done?
  • How is scheduling tool selected?
  • How would the triggers for fast tracking and crashing be determined?
  • How will the baselines be created?
  • How will the baselines be updated?
  • How will the changes be managed?
  • How will the Control thresholds determined?
  • How will the accuracy of measurement be determined?
  • How will the units of measurements be determined - Minutes/days/weeks/months etc.
  • How to determine the smallest and largest duration of activities. E.g. no activity should be smaller than 1 Person Day effort and no activity should be longer than say 5 Person Day effort.
  • Rules of performance measurement:
  • Rules for establishing % completed. E.g Analysis completed 20% done; Design completed 40% done. etc.
  •  Which variation of Earned Value Management method will be used?
